If the Golden's actions lead them a bad response from you, they understand what they are doing is wrong and steer clear of the conduct.

If your golden does something right, make sure you praise them for it. If your dog is listening to your vocal commands and doing well, reward them with treats or praise.

Letting them know they are doing things correctly leads to positive response.

On the other hand, if your golden retriever isn't listening to you or doing the opposite of what you say, don't reward the dog - instead scold them with a firm "No."

When training golden retrievers, timing is the critical factor. If your golden retriever is doing something incorrectly, don't wait or be reluctant to correct them. Doing so sends the wrong message.

When golden retrievers are executing something wrong, correct them at that point, so he knows without a doubt what he is doing wrong.

For example, if the golden retriever is chasing cars, you want to end this habit as quickly as possible. The minute you see them doing this, stop the dog and let him know they're wrong.

This way, he will identify chasing cars is something they shouldn't be doing.

It may take time for him to comprehend the behaviour, and you'll want to hold your ground and resume to correct the dog when doing something you don't approve.

This kind of concept is comparable to praise. When you see your golden doing something accurately, instantly praise them. If you don't quickly reward him and wait until the dog has stopped, believe you are praising him for stopping.

To get the best from your dog, reward him when acting the way you expect, then correct them when behaving in a negative way.

If you demonstrate patience when training golden retrievers, you shouldn't expect any problems when training. The training process can take a while, however it is more than worth your effort in the end.

Once you train golden retriever, your dog will respond to what you want and avoid doing those behaviours they have been trained to stop.
